Notice · 06 / 06

How we look after the information you give us.

Short, plainly written, and POPIA-compliant. We collect what the enquiry form sends and use it to respond to you. We don't share it, sell it, or use it for marketing. The clauses below explain what that means in practice.

Act
POPIA · 4 / 2013
Revised
04 May 2026
Scope
evnia.co.za + linked services

§ 01 · What we collect

When you submit our enquiry form we collect the fields you fill in: your name, company or property reference, email address, phone number, and the message describing the work you need. Depending on which service line you select we may also collect a vessel reference, urgency, inspection cycle, AIA preference, property type, or suburb. We do not use cookies or third-party tracking on this site.

§ 02 · Why we collect it

To reply to your enquiry, to prepare a quote, to schedule a site survey or callout, and to follow up on the work we discuss. We do not use any of the data for marketing, mailing lists, or analytics beyond aggregated, anonymised page-view counts.

§ 03 · How we store it

Form submissions are emailed to our enquiries inbox and held there for the duration of our working relationship with you, plus seven years after the last contact for tax and engineering-record retention purposes. The enquiries inbox is on Google Workspace, hosted in the European Union with appropriate data-protection safeguards.

§ 04 · Who we share it with

Nobody. We don't sell, lease, or disclose enquiry data to third parties. The only exception is when statutory work requires coordination with an Approved Inspection Authority (AIA): in that case we share the relevant operational data (vessel reference, last inspection date, plant location) with the AIA you have engaged or that we have engaged on your behalf. We will not share any data without your knowledge.

§ 05 · Your rights under POPIA

POPIA gives you the right to ask us at any time to: see the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccuracies; delete what we hold; or stop using it for follow-up. Email or call the Information Officer below with your request and we will respond within 30 days, free of charge in normal cases. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at https://inforegulator.org.za.

§ 06 · Changes to this notice

We update this page when our practices change in a way that affects your rights. The most recent revision date is shown at the top of this page and at the foot of every page on this site.

§ 07 · Information Officer
